KazMunayGas National Company JSC is Kazakhstan’s leading vertically integrated oil and gas company.
Founded in 2002, the Company contributes to the development and implementation of a unified state policy in the oil and gas sector and acts on behalf of the state in subsoil use contracts through equity participation.
KMG operates assets across the entire production cycle from exploration and production of hydrocarbons to transportation, refining, petrochemicals, and provision of oilfield services.

Shareholders
KMG is owned by Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk‑Kazyna (the Fund, Samruk‑Kazyna) – 67.42%, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Finance – 20%, the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) – 9.58%, and public investors – 3% (free float on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) and Astana International Exchange (AIX)). The shares owned by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan are under Samruk‑Kazyna’s trust management.
Samruk‑Kazyna is a sovereign wealth fund focused on enhancing the national welfare of the Republic of Kazakhstan by increasing the long‑term value of the Fund Group’s portfolio companies and ensuring efficient management of the Fund Group’s assets.
The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a central executive state body responsible for leadership and, within the limits established by law, intersectoral coordination in areas falling within its competence.
The National Bank of Kazakhstan is the central bank of Kazakhstan representing the upper (first) tier of the banking system of Kazakhstan.
